The Bled are easily one of my favorite hardcore bands of all time. I first had the chance to see them in NYC back in 2003 while I was working as an Editor for Seventeen Magazine. I hadn't felt that type of energy and excitement from a crowd at a hardcore show since the days of New York City hardcore back in the late 80's when Gorilla Biscuits were my thing. I'm one of those shy, secretly angry guys and The Bled set off a voice inside me that screams at the top of it's lungs and in my mind let's me take out my anger towards the world. But as you will witness in this video, some people outwardly express this same emotion... and I LOVE IT!!!
My blood boiled with excitement when I found out I was going to witness their last live performance in Brooklyn (it raged even higher when I found out this interview was part of the mix). So after setting my heart on self destruct over and over and over again for the last close to 10 years, I was psyched to have one last chance to do it in a room with people and a band that felt the same. Destruction begin... sad to see it end.
